NEW BUS SERVICE FOR THE BELLARINE
The Bellarine community has secured a major public transport boost, with a new cross-Bellarine bus service to connect Drysdale and Ocean Grove, a long-advocated priority for local residents.
This new route, funded through the Victorian Budget 2026/27, will provide an essential connection across the Bellarine, making it easier for locals to access work, education, shops and services without needing to travel via Geelong.
This outcome reflects strong and consistent advocacy from the Bellarine community, who have made it clear that better local connections are critical to keeping pace with the region’s growth.
The recently concluded Bellarine Bus Review saw an overwhelming response from local residents, helping to clearly identify transport gaps and priorities.
The cross Bellarine service is one piece of the review with the Department of Transport still working through the other feedback.
This investment is about making everyday life easier, whether it’s getting to school, heading to work, attending appointments or staying connected with family and community.
Quote attributable to Alison Marchant Member for Bellarine:
“This is a fantastic outcome for our community and one that locals have been advocating for over a long period of time.”
“The Bellarine Bus Review gave our community a strong voice, and it confirmed just how important better cross-Bellarine connections are.”
“This new service between Drysdale and Ocean Grove will make a real difference to how people move around the Bellarine, connecting communities and making daily life easier.”
“This is about listening to our community and delivering the services they need, now and into the future.”
