The Allan Labor Government is delivering students in Bellarine the first-class facilities they deserve, supporting better learning outcomes with upgrades and maintenance rolling out to schools across the state.
Member for Bellarine Alison Marchant today congratulated Drysdale Primary School and Bellarine Secondary College two of 58 successful schools that will share in $25 million for for a range of small-scale refurbishments, such as bathroom, playground, and fencing repairs, through the 2024/25 round of the Labor Government’s Capital Works Fund.
Drysdale Primary School will receive $299,741 to build an inclusive playground for students, to provide more opportunities for students of all abilities to play, learn and develop together. Bellarine Secondary College will receive $492,432 to refurbish the school’s student toilets.
The Labor Government has invested $16.9 billion over the past 10 years to build new schools and deliver more than 2,000 school upgrades − supporting more than 26,000 jobs in construction and associated industries.
We are getting on with the job of building new schools as we gear up to open 100 new schools by 2026.
The Victorian School Building Authority will work with successful schools from early 2025 to deliver their projects.
All construction is set to be finished by the end of May 2026.
