Victorian Budget 2026/27 Investing in Local Bellarine Schools

01 May 2026

Nothing is more important than our children’s future. That’s why the Allan Labor Government is ensuring every child can attend a great local public school.

The Victorian Budget 2026/27 invests in building, maintaining and upgrading schools because it is worth it to give our youngest Victorians the opportunities they deserve.

In this Budget, 31 government schools will receive upgrades through a $294.8 million investment, including Surfside Primary School in Ocean Grove, who will receive $11.645 million for an upgrade and modernisation project. This funding will deliver a brand-new competition grade gymnasium, providing students with a better learning environment.

The Victorian Budget 2026/27 is also investing $25.4 million for targeted works at 24 government schools (plus an open grant round). This includes $498,000 for Drysdale Primary School to update and refurbish their bathrooms.
