My constituency question is for the Minister for Health Infrastructure.

Minister, what is the timeframe for the completion of the children’s emergency department at the University Hospital Geelong?

Earlier this year I was able to visit the $20 million facility that was under construction. It was terrific to learn how this dedicated paediatric emergency department will ensure kids in the electorate of Bellarine and the Greater Geelong region will receive that dedicated care they need when they need it.

This purpose-built facility will ensure a calm environment with family-centred design and will change the way children and families receive care in what can be a distressing time when a child is unwell. I look forward to that opening soon and to the benefits to our region.
